Charming Retreat, Needs a Little TLC
During our stay, we enjoyed the peace and quiet, with a lovely nature view right from our window. The bed was comfortable, but the overall cleanliness was disappointing. Pro tip, check for any maintenance concerns, but be sure to explore nearby eateries for great local cuisine.

Had an awesome time with friends! We played darts and enjoyed nearby fishing spots. Plus, we explored Kingsway Golf Course, just a short drive away. Perfect for some outdoor fun, with options for cycling too. Highly recommend it for a chill getaway!
The shower pressure was a bit low, which made things a little inconvenient.

We stayed in a Small Twin Room. It was clean and spacious, with a large comfy bed. There was a small fridge that had fresh milk and bottled water, which was a nice touch. The bathroom was modern, and everything worked well. I liked that we had tea, coffee, and biscuits available. a cozy setup, though the decor felt a bit dated. Definitely a comfortable stay though!

The food at The River Don was pure bliss. hearty meals that warmed the cockles of my heart! Plus, the staff made everything a doddle, always chipper and ready to help. Can't forget the ample tea and biscuits in my room – a cozy touch indeed!
While the overall vibe was fab, the rooms felt a tad tired. A bit of modern flair and a smart TV for Netflix would really spice things up for those evenings in!

We had a lovely stay here with our two young kids. The atmosphere in the bar was inviting, and we enjoyed playing darts. The nearby fishing spots were a hit with the whole family, providing great outdoor fun!
In my wife’s opinion, a play area for kids would have been great.

missingWrote a review on Jul 15basic amenitiesno-frills experiencecleanliness issues
The room offers a no-frills experience with basic amenities, perfect for a quick stopover. Complimentary fridge helps with late-night snacks, though it had its quirks, like a leaky problem.
The cleanliness issues were hard to overlook. stained bedding and tired towels didn't add to the comfort, while hairs scattered in the bathroom made it feel neglected. Wifi was weak, making it tough to catch up on messages. The so-called breakfast, just a couple of cold sausage and bacon sandwiches with some cereal, left much to be desired, especially for anyone expecting a proper meal. The ensuite was cramped enough that sitting comfortably felt like a challenge, and hearing every noise from the pub below could get annoying after a long day.

I loved my stay here, especially enjoying the nice selection of beers and the comfy bed in my small single room. There’s karaoke and a laid-back TV room for some fun evening relaxation. I was a bit taken aback to find my breakfast left in the fridge, but it was a decent option for a quick bite. 😊

Charming village getaway
We spent a night in a cozy room. The bar was lively and the food was delish, especially the breakfast! The landlord and staff were super friendly, too. Only wish the Wi-Fi was a bit stronger. it kept dropping out while we were trying to plan our next day.
